The International Certification in Dance Studies (Professional) is validated by the International Dance Council CID, official partner of UNESCO.

The programme is designed to progressively develop your understandings of dance, movement and technique, creativity and choreography plus teacher analysis and evaluation.

The programme is provided in 2, four day intensives offered over two School Holiday breaks.

Places are limited.




Programme Aim
The aim of this programme is to study, experience technique and training, choreograph, facilitate, rehearse, perform and evaluate dance forms, their role and contributions to communities and society. Learners will develop understandings of the history, cultural or ethnic context and examine the communicative capabilities and value of diverse dance forms. Associated arts such a music, costuming and film will also be developed. There are 2 further levels of this programme available.
Programme Delivery
This programme is delivered through a full or part-time face to face only.
Learner Minimum
A minimum of 6 enrolled learners is required to start any programme.
Programme Length
The programme is 10 weeks full time face to face or 50 weeks part-time.
Entry Criteria
  • Entry is open to those over 18 years of age
  • Applicants must submit an application form and CV and may be interviewed before acceptance. Applicants will also be auditioned to evaluate their needs.

Annual Programme Start Dates

Programme Length
Each paper in most of the programmes may be completed in ten weeks full time face to face
Induction & Orientation Programme
This will be held a week before your programme starts to help you succeed and to understand the systems that will support your programme and the staff who will work with you. A Graduation ceremony will follow programme completion.
