Expertise Foci: Human Resources, Business Administration, Facilitation, Learner/Employee Support
Maya has worked as programme coordinator and lecturer at Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management College (NTHMC), Nepal. She has experience teaching in tertiary education and administration roles of more than six years. She has completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Leadership with merit. She also specialises in human resources with her degree in Master of Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, India. Furthermore, she has her Bachelor’s Degree in Science from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), India. Her expert subject areas are business and management. Currently, much of her work is in support of student and staff in a higher education setting in New Zealand. She keeps current in her field in New Zealand through workshops and research seminars in related fields to personal and professional growth, Intercultural Communications, International Code of Pastoral Care, Self-review of Code- NZQA and Research and Project Supervision.
Maya’s research interests are in human resources, workplace diversity and inclusion, and learner and employee support and well-being. Her expertise lies in addressing behavioural and learning issues of learners and staff to ensure they achieve their potential. Maya is currently involved in the development of business leadership theoretical model development project and a Holistic Organisational Well-being Leadership Research Programme.
